: Selenge District, southwestern central Buryatia. 40% mountain taiga, mostly forested areas, sharply continental; short autumn. September: mostly cloudy, rainy, ~+10°C (50F). October: less precipitation, more sunny days, daytime >0°C (32F). November: dry, little snow, ~-10°C average, with frosts (14F). December: snowiest, -20°C and colder (-4F).

Additional information

: Day 1:
• Arrival at Ulan-Ude Airport (morning)
• Transfer by Toyota Land Cruiser Prado/ Fortuner to Gusin-Osersk (~2 hours)
• Transfer by UAZ/Nissan 4x4 to the base (~5 hours).
Day 2:
• Breakfast
• Rifle test
• Lunch
• Departure for hunting (returning at night)
• Late dinner and sleep. Days 2–8:
- Hunting.
Day 9:
- Breakfast
- Return trip in reverse order
- Packed lunch
- Dinner in Ulan-Ude
- Night in Ulan-Ude hotel.
